New Cycle Cafe in Temple Sowerby

Dear Chairman and Secretary of Eden Valley Cycling UK,

I hope that you don’t mind me contacting you directly on this matter, however, I wanted to advise you and your members of a new Café opening in Temple Sowerby.

The Temple Sowerby House Hotel will be opening a great new Café called Temple Velo, to cater for cyclists that pass through the village, before, during or after a ride in the Lakes, Pennines or Dales.

The Café will serve great locally sourced, homemade food and drink, as well as a great range of homemade cycle and diet friendly nutrition to consume on the go. All food will be produced in our kitchens onsite with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact. The café has indoor and outdoor seating in a beautiful garden and court yard, with 30 secure bike racks and a self-service cycle workshop in a converted stable, just for those on the go emergencies we encounter from time to time.

The Café will initially open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from the 16th April 2021, with a full launch planned on the 21st May 2021, just in time, we hope, for a post lockdown season of riding.

As the café develops and gets established special events will be planned all with a cycling theme. This could be anything from Art exhibitions to themed days based around the Queens Stages of major events in the UCI and UK Race calendar. The café will also cater for cycling groups/clubs to hire the venue for meetings or for those further afield, there is B&B accommodation and a Coach house that sleeps 6 for hire, with secure cycle storage, bike wash and workshop.

Please can I ask you to let your members know about the café and we look forward to welcoming you all when we open.

Kind Regards, Pete Pearce (on behalf of Alison and Andi at the House Hotel)
