Please note that the ride starts from the bridge at Mill Rigg over Crowdundle beck(GR NY609282). There is a small parking place on the road to Acorn Bank and if necessary more space as you turn off the old A66 onto the B6412 (606280)
The ride is mixed road and bridleway mostly flat and easy. There is a steep hill up out of Orton onto the fell and there are some thought provoking bits if you are not on an MTB but any bike with 32mm or more tyres and good gears would be suitable. I would say it is a great introduction to gravel riding.
Finally note the starting time is changed as I have an appointment to get my second Covid jab at 0915 in Penrith!
