In addition to this post, please look at Geoff's post below. We have a choice which we hope will satisfy demand! Thanks Geoff and Ernest.
Ernest's suggestion:
From Greystoke at 9.30. The route will be at an easy pace ("2 bike" grade) and go via Pooley Bridge to Lowther Castle for coffee in the courtyard. There are a number of options for the ride across to Langwathby and over the fells to a possible second stop at Plumpton. The total distance should be about 40 miles.
A reminder that the bridge at Pooley Bridge is closed completely at the moment - not even for cyclists.
ReplyDeleteThe comment should have read - not even open for cyclists.
ReplyDeleteThink you can push bikes across the footbridge

I’d like to join you on Wednesday for one of the rides
Cheers
Chris, that's fine. See you tomorrow
DeleteAccording to itv local news last night, the footbridge has been removed to allow further work on the new bridge. In the meantime no traffic of any kind is allowed onto the bridge. I phoned Granny Dowbekins and they confirm that information is accurate. Cyclists they say are not allowed onto the bridge
ReplyDeleteThere is always pooley mill bridge. You will have to push your bike few a few field and follow a track to Barton Church.
