Starting at 9.30 from Frenchfield, Penrith. This is a moderately paced ride of about 40 miles. Out via the Stricklands to Shap, along the concrete road to the head of Haweswater and return via Askham. There may be a chance for a coffee or something at Shap or the Haweswater Hotel but basically BYO is advised.
