Ride (Super ride) Sunday 28th June

to commemorate the day Henry VIII was born?

Peter says: "..I have little to add but it may be useful to remind members of the 9.00 am start for tomorrows run, otherwise nothing to add apart from my usual slow/steady (lack of) pace and possible shortening in case of foul weather."

He actually said he has done 337 miles so far this week (so he's either extraordinarily fit or just about flat out whacked!)

Ride Wednesday, 24th June

Not quite sure why I said the ride tomorrow is undulating (!) - it's rather flat really.
Straight out and back: 53 miles.
For anyone wanting to ride a bit further, Parker and I will be leaving home at 8.15 and passing through Cotehill just after that (8.25) if you fancy riding to Dalston with us. Apologies for late blog - it's so light I thought it was still late afternoon:)
Anyway, hope to see you tomorrow.

Club Ride Wednesday 10 June

The ride will start from The Cloisters in Kirkby Stephen at 0930, from where we will head for Hawes for 11's. I will lead the ride over Lamps Moss to Thwaite and then over Buttertubs to Hawes. Ernest has kindly offered to lead a second group to Hawes via Mallerstang, thus missing out the bigger climbs.

From Hawes we will all head for Buckden via Gayle and Fleet Moss and then on to Aysgarth Falls CafĂ© for lunch via Cray and Kidstones.

The return leg will be easier terrain, going through Askrigg and Hardraw and back to base via Mallerstang. The total distance will be 67 miles and slightly shorter for those riding the first leg with Ernest.

The forecast is looking great, so I hope to see you on Wednesday.

Ride Sunday 7 June

Weather is set to be windy but dry, and sunny later so I intend setting out at least on the full 80mi route from Langholme to Eskdalemuir to Tushie Law back to Hawick (lunch at Morrisons?) and returning via Newcastleton to Langholme. Quite a hilly route but hope to see lots of you!!!
Geoff (ever hopeful)

Proposed change of ALT Venue Sunday 7 th June

Posted on behalf of Dallas & Jen

Since the Stonehouse Loft cafe at Stainton is open again freshly baked scones and cakes endorsed by Dallas and Jen they recommend patronising the business.

Therefore it is proposed that the venue should be changed from Booths cafe in Penrith to the Lofthouse cafe in Stainton.

Ride Wednesday 3rd June

Sorry folks but my parents will be here tomorrow so I am unable to lead the ride as scheduled.  This means riders will now lead it themselves.  The planned route is leave Dalston at 9.30am - coffee in the Smithy Caldbeck, cycle towards and beside Bassenthwaite, lunch at the Filling Station in Keswick returning along the cycle path and up through Mungrisdale back to Dalston.
