Tomorrow's ride Sunday 30th March

Following up on Dallas' message, don't forget the clocks go forward tonight! It's also Mother's Day so  I suggest you bring your own lunch just in case the cafés in Newcastleton are full. Parker will be leading  the ride as I'm feeling under the weather again. Have a great ride - it's fantastic scenery up there.

Club rides Wednesday 26th March

As usual there will be parking for a few cars on our drive as well as across from Burneside Church - the official ride start.
There will be opportunity to switch between rides at the breaks, particularly for the second leg where Keith's ride will take in Red Bank, Blea Tarn and Hawkshead Hill prior to lunch.  Cathy's ride will include Red Bank (steep but short!) but will then take a more civilised route to Hawkshead.  You don't need to decide until the day but whichever route you choose, it should be a good day.  The forecast is very good and the scenery is stunning.  Cathy's ride will return via Windermere Ferry.
Tea and cake at our house after the ride.  Hope to see you tomorrow,
Cathy and Keith

Sunday 16th March Rides

Alison says: 'the moderate ride on Sunday 16 March will not be leaving Langwathby at 9.30 as indicated on the runs list but at 10 am to meet the Carlisle train. Anyone with time to spare can spend it in St Peter's Church Langwathby which, unusually, does not have a service that day.

'Please can you let me know by Saturday night if you want Lily's lovely soup for lunch as I have told her I will forewarn her of numbers.

'See you Sunday - Alison'

Nigel says his ride should leave at 0930 as indicated; 11s is at Talkin Tarn, lunch at Alston.  The ride is 57 miles, or it was on Tuesday, but it was sunny then.

Camper Van For Sale

Sorry, nothing to do with cycling - though has got a bike rack!

We've bought a more modern camper, so our very original and well cared for verging on classic status 1986 VW Type 25 Autohomes Komet (owned and garaged for last 14 years) is going up for sale now that spring has arrived. Most of you know how I look after my classic cars, so it is genuinely a good'un! Unlikely any of EV would be interested directly, but if you know of anyone who might, please put them in contact for further details, pictures etc. Thanks.

Lunch on Wednesday's ride 12 March

A wee note for those that might be meeting us at lunch time - the Dandelion Cafe is not open so the plan is to go to Nicol End Marina Cafe, just before you get into Portinscale. Should be there around 1.00 pm ish.

Clubrun tomorrow (9th March)

Runs list says Gilsland, but we're going to Greenhead!

Greenhead Tea Rooms is advertised as open every day but I couldn't contact the owner, so I don't know if we can get fed there tomorrow. Better bring some lunch just in case like Janet said on the runs list notes.
