Hello Everyone,
I hope that everyone is well and managing to get out on your bikes.
I have made a provisional booking for Christmas lunch at "Four and Twenty" in Penrith (42 King Street) on Saturday 11th December at 12:30. It will be good to catch up with people in a social setting.
I need to get an idea of numbers so I can finalise the booking, so if you intend coming along can you please let me know either by text or follow this LINK and make your choices.

Hello All. There is a mtb ride planned for the Winlatter trails this Friday. Meet at the Noble Knott car park which is on the left going up from Braithwaite, just past where the ice cream van parks on the right, at 10.30. Blue route first followed by whichever bits of red the group fancies, with a lunch stop at the cafe at some point, or BYO. Hard tails are perfectly adequate for the trails. 3 going so far. Text me on 07810751189 if you are joining us.

Thanks to all who attended our charity rides and lunch, and for your generous donations. £160 has been sent to the homeless charity Crisis. A good bike ride, good company and good conversation. Thanks again.

Hello All. Rosie and I are leading rides from Greystoke village carpark, leaving at 9.30. The routes will lead us to our house at 15 Croft Terrace, Penrith, for a charity lunch off soup, rolls and cake in aid of the homeless charity Crisis, at about 11.45. After lunch various routes will take us back to Greystoke. Please join us for the rides, or just turn up at the house. We will have a well ventilated dining area, to keen those nasty bugs at bay. Please text Rosie if you intend to come on 07818241833.
This is a repeat of a gravel ride we did in June(11th) 40 ish miles of mainly easy tracks suitable for any bike but >32mm tyres. Suspension not necessary but maybe an advantage. Could see it as an easy intro to MTB / Gravel, that saying there are a few hills but nothing technical!
68km and 1612m up! But this can easily be edited
Weather light winds and sunny but 10°C
Come and enjoy the last of the summer!!
Start at Crodundle beck Bridge GR NY608282 - there's parking for a few cars on the road that goes to Acorn Bank
Let me know if you are coming Text (with name) on 07711842885
Rosie will lead a ride from Beacon Edge cemetery lay-by, Penrith, leaving at 9.30, and heading to Lowther for coffee at 11 ish. Please text to say you are coming.
Good morning all - I am proposing a ride around the northern fells on Wednesday starting from Dalston at 09:30. Coffee at Maes in Ulldale and lunch in Threlkeld. Total distance about 55 miles. Beginning at 9.30 at Kirkby Stephen Cloisters, Rachel will be leading a ride with BYO coffee en route, BYO lunch at Reeth and tea at Tan Hill. Total distance is 47 miles and I'm told there is a hill that's very hard to climb without pushing your bike. It will be fun. Go for it!
A number of groups around the country are planning cycle rides to Glasgow arriving on 6th November for a 'Global Action Day for Climate Justice' at COP26. Details of how to join one of the rides can be found at www.pedalonparliament.org if anyone is interested.
Rachel is putting on two rides this week. On Sunday she will lead a ride from Kirkby Stephen Cloisters to Reeth and Tan Hill - I will blog nearer the time.
On Friday 8 October Rachel will be leaving Alston railway station at 9.30 to follow the railway line to Haltwhistle and return. BYO coffee and lunch. A lovely scenic route about 25 miles long taking you out of Cumbria. Plenty of parking in the lane leading to the station. There is also a station car park although this is locked later in the day. Enjoy!
