The Route starts from The Texaco / Spar garage on the way into Alston - plenty of parking NY 716462 or
///wooden.tragedy.newsreel From there we go to Garrigill Nenthead Allendale Town (lunch stop) Whitfield Lanehead Slaggeyford and back to Alston on the N side of the S Tyne?
At 70km this may not look much but there are a few hills - nevertheless it is spectacular countryside typical of the Northumbrian Penines. There is a good lunch stop in Allendale Town but bring supplies in case. (Allendale Forge cafe say they are open 9-16)
Weather forecast is saying mild sunny showery and windy - take your pick!
