Sunday 29th September - No ride scheduled

As there is no ride listed on this day, potential riders might like to consider an excellent coffeee stop in Culgaith. The Village has it's annual Art Exhibition in the village hall (at the crossroads) and Tea, Coffee and Homemade cakes will be on sale at very reasonable prices (£1.50 for tea and cake).

Do you need any more inducement?

Sunday 22 September

If you are thinking of going on Cathy's ride, please, please ignore this post;  Alison risks loss of a valued friendship not to say dispassionate advice on riding techniques (to the effect that Alison should forgo stunt riding in favour of wheels on the ground touring ....) if she poaches riders tomorrow.
That said, it is possible that there are one or two riders who want only coffee and company (even in the absence of Cathy) and who would go to Abbott Lodge to meet about 1110 (that is not a spelling, if spelling applies to numbers, mistake);  if there are, it is suggested they go there then, before or later.  Alison and I, and one or two others, intend to.

Code of Conduct

At the August committee meeting, we agreed to publish the club's code of conduct on the website and draw members' attention to it, and section 4 in particular.
Well it's there now, under "Documents", so please have a look.

Tour 16 September 2013

I am going to ride to have a peek at the tour.  I propose to have an 11s stop at Booths in Penrith then go on via Greystoke, Troutbeck, C2C route south of A66, Threlkeld,  along St John's.  Lunch BYO and / or see what can be had at the Hotel at the south end of B5322 then south as far as possibly the car Park overlooking Thirlmere - in hopes of getting a longer view.  I have not ridden to check the route so there may be variation.  If anyone wants to join me, that would be nice;  otherwise you have  a pretty good idea how to avoid me.

Ride on Sunday 15th September

The forecast is horrendous and a complete change of route is a strong possibility.    I have in mind a route taking in Grizedale, Newby Bridge, Hawkshead etc.      Because of low light conditions, lights will be advisable.  The weather may not be as bad as forecast and I would not discount doing the published route at this time.   If we ride the route, 11's will be BYO as there is no cafe at Ulpha.

Ride from Kirkby Stephen 11th September

It would seem from the weather forecast that we are in for heavy rain from mid-day so alas we will have to change the ride to something a little shorter. Back lights might also be a good idea as some mist is forecast. See you at the start and we can make a group decision there!
We'll keep with the 9.15 start to avoid confusion!

Tea and refreshments will be provided at our house after the ride on Sunday. If anyone wishes to park here they are most welcome.
The forecast is looking much better now - hope to see you out!
