Tour of Britain!

Anyone interested in watching either the Team Time Trial(Stage 5) or Stage 6 (both featuring Whinlatter) on the 6th and 7th September (Thursday and Friday)
Maybe meet at Greystoke and cycle over.
Comment below and I'll try to get something sorted? Or pos suggest meeting place closer to the route.

  1. Planning to see one of the days. My option was see them come up Hawkshead hill or Dunmail. Would be interested in your plan though

  2. Yes, I would be interested to see the team trial on the Thursday, so a ride over from Greystoke would be OK with me.

  4. A suggestion for Thursday:
Leave Greystoke at 0930 and cycle though Keswick to Whinlatter with provisions for the rest of the day! It seems the first TTT leaves Cockermouth at about 1300 Whinlatter is closed to vehicles all day but we should be able to cycle up. I will try to make enquiries. Then view the TTT from the Lorton side - GR 181255 or 192245 might be good - until about 1430. At the moment the weather looks good

  5. Looking forward to tomorrow. Nigel and I will be at Greystoke for 0930 and will cycle through to Whinlatter. I haven't done any serious cycling for weeks so will be travelling at a sedate pace if anyone wants to join me. Sadly I can't do Friday but I know Nigel is hoping to be out and as the Tour visits Whinlatter twice we can do a reccy tomorrow for the best vantage point the day after.

  6. Did you see us on telly? We were there - 7 of us, just downhill from the finish, though I gather other club members were also on TV at different parts of the route. A grand day out!
