Rural communities fund have given Cumbria CC a million pounds to extend the cycleway from Allonby to Silloth on the west coast. This is really good news to establish a safe cycle alternative to the sometimes dangerous coast road.
This is good news, I wonder if the council can also be persuaded to go back and tarmac the section from Allonby to Blue Dial. The current surface is not really suitable for road bikes and most road cyclists come off the cycle path to avoid it. Should not cost too much if there are contractors on site. John
